[Merem and Ciel are taking a walk in the park, enjoying the warm weather like a normal family. Keywords there on normal. Unfortunately, there's an interloper here in the form of Arcueid, the Princess of the True Ancestors.]

IDIOT NUN!!

[The White Princess takes a hefty swing and nails Ciel right in the stomach. Even though she should be in horrid pain, she's still smiling. And she keeps smiling after a few more punches go to her face, which causes Arcueid to pause.]

What are you doing, Princess? This kind of thing is useless, you know? Watch and see.

[Merem grabs Ciel's arm and without pause, pulls her down and bites her neck. All the way through. Her head rolls off in a small spray of arterial blood and Merem grabs it before it hits the ground. The Crown starts to spin the head around on his finger struggling to balance it like a basket ball.]

See? It has to be like that.

I didn't want to kill her, I just wanted to beat her up for being stupid. I guess she managed to run away by getting droned because she knew what was coming. Or I guess maybe she didn't. Either way that shell is useless so you can do what you want with her.

[WELL. At least one of them is impressed with Merem's mad skillz.

Give me ten Astartes in their war-plate and there's not a thing in the galaxy we couldn't defeat. [He doesn't say this with pride. While all Space Marines have martial pride, this statement is a simple fact. He could break any single foe with a squad of his battle-brothers.]

[Arcueid just gives Garviel a weird look. He sure is fatally headstrong, and in the opposite direction that Shiki is headstrong. Arcueid can only see a bloody death awaiting this man, but she's just going to glaze over that in her own mind.]

Well, I sure hope that's true. Maybe if you get a squad of your friends here then we could get out of here.

[Garviel pauses at that.]

I will concede the possibility, yes. The problem of this town isn't one to be solved by physical might, as near as I can tell. There are many warriors here that are close to the physical prowess of an Astartes, and a rare few exceed it, though most aren't as versatile, or rely on specific abilities rather than a broad base.

What we need to escape are scholars, or some sort of sanctioned psykers, in all honesty.

I think whoever controls this is a God nobody can defeat, and we're just going to have to live with it until it gets bored with us.

Ciel might take it easy on you, but I also want to reiterate that you probably shouldn't mess with Merem at all. I'm saying that for your sake, not his. I'd actually think it was kind of funny if you could beat him up.

[Garviel's expression doesn't change when Merem is brought up again, though his tone gets a little flatter as he says.]

I am aware of his peculiar capacities. I am not properly armed to deal with him as I would wish to.

I do. I have seen and faced down such foes before but that was on my terms with all of my war-gear, and my battle-brothers.

[Her laughter neither annoys nor soothes him. He shakes his head, looking down at Ciel's corpse again.]

Do you think she'll be back? I mean... as herself.

[Arcueid simply shakes her head in pity as she looks down at the corpse as well.]
