OOC//Permissions

With all these regains comes a permission post of sorts.

Merem regained his left arm, the King of Rats. While normally appearing like a white rat, he has the ability to take on any form as long as it's humanoid in size and shape. Other animals or crazy looking things are well out of his boundaries.

The disguise isn't infallible, of course. If your character is a high ranking member of the Church (for the sake of RP since Christianity is the only real religion in Type-Moon) or some other religious organization, sheer dedication to faith will force the Rat King to reveal his true form under a concentrated glare. Also, if your character is just ridiculously dangerous, he'll drop it out of fear because, well, he is a rat after all. And rats are pretty good at picking out who can beat the fudge out of them.

SO THE PERMISSIONS PART

Merem likes to troll. It gives him entertainment value, which is what all Type-Moon vampires live for. Having people see their friends doing something they normally wouldn't do brings joyful guffaws to the yard upon reactions. SO

A. Can the Rat King use your character's looks and clothing as a disguise?
B. Given the above criteria, can your character see his true form?

Once Envy regains its transformative powers, Envy, the King of Rats, and Ingway should just go around imitating everyone they can simultaneously to confuse the shit out of the entire town.

A: Permission granted for Maka, Envy, Mariya, Keiichi, and Zero.

B: This is the hard part. I doubt Envy, Keiichi, Mariya (despite being a Catholic school 'girl') or Zero apply in regards to the religious portion, but Envy and Zero are both dangerous (the former once he gets some more powers).

Maka reveres Lord Death like crazy and he's basically the God of her world? Plus, she's got her Soul Perception, so she might/probably could see through it?

[identity profile] rhymes-with-wit.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
A: Permission for Ai Enma, Tiffany Aching, Harley Quinn, Wanda Dollard, Ukraine, Cuba, Tex, GLaDOS, Elizbeth Tudor

B. Well Ai and Tex would as they classify as "ridiculously dangerous". Elizabeth Tudor might get the religious one because her brother is the head of the Church in England at the moment. Tiffany and GLaDOS are both "ridiculously clever" so I don't know how that would work out. Maybe?

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
A. Yes to my four guys - BLU Scout, Crowe, Theo, and Cynric

B. No to all, but if Cynric ever gets his magic back, he might fall under the "ridiculously dangerous" criteria as he's obscenely powerful. But it's gonna be awhile till he gets that back, I'm holding off on it. I-If I don't just drop him before then, orz

[identity profile] stay-cool-bro.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Go ahead and disguise as Horohoro, Nigel, Conchita or Beyond Birthday.

BB will be able to see through the disguise with the power of his shinigami eyes, which allow him to read the true name of any human as long as he can see their face. However since rat king is using a disguise, and is a rat, the name will be absent and so he'll know something's up.

[identity profile] glompedbystakes.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
A) permission granted for all.
Sakutaro [livejournal.com profile] glompedbystakes
Rue [livejournal.com profile] raven_daughter
Saki Hanajima [livejournal.com profile] couldbeeeepthem
Takashi Morinozuka [livejournal.com profile] serverofshota
Mickey Mouse [livejournal.com profile] souris_keteer
Amy Rose [livejournal.com profile] ringaroundrose
Marie Curie [livejournal.com profile] marie_cured

B) my 'dangerous' characters don't really appear to be dangerous unless you actually piss them off. so i'll leave it to you whether they count or not. They are Saki, Takashi, Mickey, Amy.

[identity profile] yourhairismine.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
A. Sure, why not? ...if he dares to anyway, fufufu.

B. While Altrouge is definitely not a high ranking member of the Church, I'd imagine she ranks pretty high on the "ridiculously dangerous" scale in their world. Of course, at the moment she's anything but... but past experience and knowledge might make him fear her. Or not. Everything's so darned uncertain when it comes to her. I don't know how her mystic eyes would play into the equation either, if at all, when she regains them.

[identity profile] hurtjustalittle.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
A. Allowed and encouraged for Jane, if you want it to work!
B. She's a vampire (though right now the only dangerous power she has is the ability to project the illusion of burning pain), so it's up to you whether the King of Rats would consider her dangerous.

[identity profile] ohlookboobs.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yes to both Zidane Tribal and Dahlia Hawthorne.
2. Dahlia is a convicted murderer, but she tries to cover this up by pretending to be sweet and gentle. Zidane is a skilled but good-hearted thief. Also, in case the the King of Rats somehow finds out, he was created to cause chaos and destruction on the planet of Gaia - however, he ended up on Gaia when he was little and grew up to be a good guy instead (although he's not likely to reveal this without a good reason) - so the thing the King of Rats should really be more concerned about his thieving profession.

I don't see either of my characters as being religious (although I can see Dahlia pretending to be a Christian). So I'm also going to say it's up to you whether or not the King of Rats would see them dangerous.

[identity profile] stop-it-tewi.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
1: Yes for both Reisen here and [livejournal.com profile] teacup_parry

2: Reisen is able to perceive wavelengths of people, and generally is able to see through illusions as well, so I imagine she'd be able to see through his disguise, especially if it's somebody she's familiar with or if she becomes familiar with its wavelengths.

As for Shina... she's rather good at keeping her power hidden from general sensing, so the rat isn't likely to drop his illusions out of fear unless under extremely rare circumstances she's in a foul mood or something. On the other hand, while she doesn't have anything yet that would let her see through disguises, she does have detection capabilities she can regain.

[identity profile] mr-blandy-bland.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Permission granted for Canada, Austria, Afghanis-tan, Fransu, Hanyuu, and Charlotte.
2. Hanyuu might be able to see through him, everyone else not so much.

[identity profile] rogue-crow.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] rogue_crow - A) Yes. B) That depends. Zevran is an accomplished assassin, so he's definitely dangerous...but he's also rather cheerful and laid-back despite that, so he may not actually be intimidating enough. Ultimately your call, I guess?

[livejournal.com profile] have_your_lives - A) Yes. B) Yes. Schuldig is a telepath, for one thing; while he's certainly not able to read a rat's mind, he might be able to clue in from Merem himself(unless Merem is exempt from telepathy; Schu has a permission post up about this). For another, he is a vicious sadist with no morals whatsoever and he'd scare the hell out of pretty much anyone.

[livejournal.com profile] the_bloody_road - A) Yes. B) Yes. Dias is far nicer than Schuldig, but he's still an accomplished swordsman, and he also has a very low tolerance for bullshit of any kind...not to mention an entire repertoire of angry glares. Though the glares aren't related to any dedication to faith, that plus his own strength and short temper would probably be plenty intimidating.

[livejournal.com profile] kleptophile - A) Yes. B) No. Lyn has some powers of his own, but all the actually scary ones are extremely rusty from disuse (not to mention that he doesn't even have any of them back yet) and, personality-wise, he's pretty much like a rat himself. He tries to appear strong and dangerous, and he's usually angry, but I doubt he'd actually scare the King of Rats into revealing anything.

[identity profile] a-gentle-boy.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yes for Susan, Lucas, and Yuki
2. Yuki and Susan would both see through it. The former is self-explanatory, the latter is stated to have the uncanny ability to see what's actually there (a much more useful ability than seeing what isn't there.)

[identity profile] fractured-white.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Permission for Albedo~ He looks forward to seeing the results.

As for whether or not he could see through it, he openly mocks religion but he himself has encountered the God of his world and regularly interacts with/gets the strongest of his powers from a semi-divine being, if that counts. Though he's ridiculously dangerous when he's bored enough/in a bad mood anyway.

[identity profile] no-bullying.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
For Pamela-

A) Sure, but she's a ghost
B) Looks-wise, she's not dangerous, and personality-wise, she's not much of a threat, either, though she's persistent, for sure. Once she gets back her Mana, though, and her full range of skills, as well as the teddy bear the Mana possess that she uses as a weapon, though, she's a threat in terms of skills. (immunity to physical attacks+cast from HP skills= ???)

Marivel-

A) Sure?
B) Well, when she gets back all her magic, and Asgard, anyways, she'd be dangerous. Other than that, she's just another vampire-like being.

Yes to all for the rest of them. (Vanille, Suika, MOMO, Maya, Rin).

[identity profile] fractured-white.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
You can add Albedo in to that list once he gets his own shapeshifting back.

[identity profile] cowardly-prince.livejournal.com 2010-08-18 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
A belated shapeshifting high-five, because I totally put this on the backburner and then forgot about it.

A.) Yes for Ingway here, [Bad username or site: namusan_messiah title=Byakuren @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: yournewoverlord title=Laharl @ livejournal.com], and Link assuming he gets accepted.

B.) Byakuren qualifies as being a powerful religious figure, though for the wrong religion. Laharl will be ridiculously powerful when he has more regains, but not only does he not look it, people who know him well enough to know he's not bluffing about being able to blow up the world know he's still bluffing about being willing to hurt them. Usually. How it applies to him will probably depend on the circumstances.

[identity profile] ahoge-goddess.livejournal.com 2010-08-20 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
A.) Yes to all of them.

B.) Can Shinki do so cause she's a god and all that?

[identity profile] push-pull-girl.livejournal.com 2010-09-09 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
A.Sounds interesting, so yes♄
B. Eh...She worked in a church but I don't think she'd have that kind of power nor is she particularly dangerous on impulse so probably not.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
A: Go right ahead.

B: We should discuss this. Garviel is an extremely faithful believer in the imperial truth, which is basically as follows: There is no god, and science and mankind are the way and the light. This purity of faith sustains him several times against the corrupting forces of chaos. But he's not actually churchy-like, just faithful sans the typical god-based belief structure. if you'd like I can link you an explanation of the Imperial truth explained in-universe.

Oh yeah, and ridiculously dangerous? Quite probably, once he gets his first regain. SPACE MARINE :3

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
As a Space Marine, how high up in the organization is he? Because the whole Imperium is practically a religion anyway. If he's more specialized or higher ranked as opposed to a normal Space Marine, it would certainly make a difference.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
This is pre-imperial creed time, he's horus heresy. They aren't actually worshipping the emperor yet.

That being said, he's EXTREMELY high ranked. He's a captain of the 10th company of Luna wolves, and one of 4 personal advisors to his Primarch, Horus Lupercal. (The lucifer figure of the entire heresy mythos)

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds good enough for me then.

[identity profile] dclassreyvateil.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
A.) Well, IC-wise the Rat King's seen Aurica by now, so amusingly I want to give consent for you to make use of her image as you please. Specifically for the purpose of trolling Misha since she lives with you now but hey do as you like

B.) It's a little difficult for me to describe, but the short of it is, while she's a Holy Maiden of the Church of Elemia [Spoilerish Ahead, sorry I can't figure out how to set background colors in comments ><] and was viewed at one point as the reincarnation of a goddess [End Spoilerish], the unknown basis of the religion (and much of their world for that matter) is much more magical and scientific than it is divine, even if the ways of the Church are regarded as so. Still, Aurica is emotionally hinged on faith, and she has a great deal of that. It's more up to you if you want this to apply, and she tends to be too naive to pick up on deception anyway, exceptions applying of course.

[identity profile] oberste.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
A.) Yes
B.) Barthomeloi Lorelei is the most-powerful official magi atm. She is affiliated to th Mage's Association wich isn't that much a religious organization. I'm pretty sure Lorelei can see Rat King's true form, since she is a very skilled magus and can simply sense wether a person is human or inhuman.
