10th

It's a shame winter doesn't last longer. I would like to see more snow, don't you think, mom?

[Merem and Ciel are taking a walk in the park, enjoying the warm weather like a normal family. Keywords there on normal. Unfortunately, there's an interloper here in the form of Arcueid, the Princess of the True Ancestors.]

IDIOT NUN!!

[The White Princess takes a hefty swing and nails Ciel right in the stomach. Even though she should be in horrid pain, she's still smiling. And she keeps smiling after a few more punches go to her face, which causes Arcueid to pause.]

What are you doing, Princess? This kind of thing is useless, you know? Watch and see.

[Merem grabs Ciel's arm and without pause, pulls her down and bites her neck. All the way through. Her head rolls off in a small spray of arterial blood and Merem grabs it before it hits the ground. The Crown starts to spin the head around on his finger struggling to balance it like a basket ball.]

See? It has to be like that.

I didn't want to kill her, I just wanted to beat her up for being stupid. I guess she managed to run away by getting droned because she knew what was coming. Or I guess maybe she didn't. Either way that shell is useless so you can do what you want with her.

[WELL. At least one of them is impressed with Merem's mad skillz.

Arcueid and Merem will be replying separately.]

[His jaw clenches, and his gray eyes harden, resembling slate.]

I'll take your lack of protest as an agreement.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
[He just glares at Merem in silence, rage smoldering in his eyes.]

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
You are unworthy even of hate.

[He pulls his helmet back on.] Ciel was right to ask that I not deal with you. You sully the world by existing in it.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I know I do. That's why the Church labels me as a heretic.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Heretic... yes, that is a good name for you.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I knew you'd like it. It doesn't stop the Church from using my services. I'm a baptized holy man.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
The hypocrisy of religion astounds me at times.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
No one is exempt from hypocrisy.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
A rational mind is less susceptible to it than one clouded by religion, though.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
But there is power in belief.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Faith has a quality, Sindermann himself said this, but faith is best placed in the amoral light of truth.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Faith in truth?

[Merem starts laughing.]

That is using the word faith incorrectly.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Faith in the destiny of mankind to shine the light of that truth, into even the darkest corners of the galaxy, then.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
That is like saying "I have faith that if I put this ball on the hill, it will roll down it." Nearly every being in the galaxy knows about the supremacy of mankind. That's why they're so hostile.

You have no faith. You're living in truths and inevitability.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
I must disagree with you here, as I so often do. But I suspect that this kind of sophistry is in fact your most potent weapon.

[identity profile] wise-king.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Not quite. I haven't revealed my most potent weapon to anyone in Mayfield yet since I have never had a need.

[identity profile] lunawolves10th.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Garviel doesn't respond to that one. For most Luna wolves tend to believe that the strongest weapons are the ones that effect morale. Physical ones are merely a practical point, designed to elicit the desired effect from the foe.]
